Digi, an American firm specializing in Internet-of-Things connectivity with a background in railway solutions, has teamed up with Cylus, renowned globally for its expertise in rail cybersecurity, in a “strategic partnership.”
This collaboration centers on the fusion of CylusOne’s advanced cybersecurity platform with Digi’s TX64 5G Rail cellular router. The integration is timed to address the growing cybersecurity threats facing rail systems, aiming to deliver an exceptional level of protection against cyber risks.
Digi highlighted that combining CylusOne with the TX64 5G Rail not only meets security challenges but also offers a compact, all-in-one solution that merges 5G connectivity with robust cybersecurity features. The Digi Remote Manager® enhances this setup with capabilities for remote monitoring and management.
Steve Mazur, Digi International’s Business Development Director for Government and Transportation, emphasized that this partnership represents a significant leap forward in rail cybersecurity. “This integration enhances both the security and operational efficiency of rail networks worldwide, offering a streamlined and unified solution for rail operators.”

The alliance is noted for being the first to combine a rail-specific router and software in this manner. CylusOne software can be integrated into various trackside equipment and rolling stock. Additionally, Digi’s solution includes FirstNet Trusted support, catering to the urgent needs of first responders during emergencies.
