The recent cyber attack has severely impacted the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS), disrupting essential services at academic and major laboratories across the country.
However, NHLS has made significant progress in rebuilding and securing its IT infrastructure and systems. As of August 1, the organization has begun to gradually restore critical services in a controlled manner, starting with major and academic laboratories nationwide.
Among the services now back online are laboratory registration, results processing, and reporting through the Laboratory Information System. This restoration allows healthcare providers to access patient results online via the NHLS Laboratory Web Results Viewer, ensuring they have the vital information needed for ongoing patient care.
The reactivation of the Laboratory Information System is expected to alleviate the backlog and reduce the reliance on manual processes, thus improving efficiency and streamlining operations.
Despite the rise in global cyber threats, NHLS remains dedicated to protecting its IT infrastructure and continuing its vital work, while steadily working towards resuming full service delivery.
