StarHub Collaborates with SPF to Promote Cybersecurity Awareness via Educational Videos

To tackle the issue of cybercrime, StarHub has teamed up with the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to initiate a public awareness campaign focused on raising alertness to online threats. The campaign features a collection of “Scam Masterclass” videos, each addressing prevalent scams like impersonation, job fraud, and authority scams.

These videos are designed to help viewers identify the warning signs of various scams and provide them with the knowledge and tools to outsmart fraudsters. For instance, the episode on impersonation scams will guide viewers on how to identify suspicious files that could compromise their devices, recognize the writing styles scammers use to deceive loved ones, and understand how urgency is used to lure victims.

Hoo Chuan-Wei, StarHub’s Chief Information Security Officer, commented:

With this campaign, we aim to contribute to building a more aware and resilient digital society.

Starting today, the Masterclass videos will be available across several platforms, including StarHub’s official website, retail stores, and the YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages of both StarHub and SPF. The videos will also be broadcasted on StarHub TV channels such as Hub E City, Hub Sports, and AXN.
