Bella Vista is currently looking into a potential cyberattack affecting its network.
Due to disruptions in internet and phone services, city offices were closed on Monday. IT staff had to shut down all systems as a precaution. The closure will extend through Tuesday, August 20, with operations shifting to online and email communication for remote workers.
Late Sunday night, the city’s IT Department identified unusual activity and has since been working to address the situation. Assistance from the Arkansas Municipal League has been sought to help with the ongoing investigation.
The closure impacts several facilities including City Hall, Community Development Services, Bella Vista District Court, Bella Vista Public Library, and the Bella Vista Street Department.
Emergency services are still operational. For non-emergency police and fire matters, call 479-855-3771, and for emergencies, dial 911.
At this moment, no additional details are available.
