The International Society of Automation (ISA) has revealed that its ISASecure® certification program has been appointed as the sole verifier for cybersecurity standards within The Open Group’s Open Process Automation™ Forum (OPAF). OPAF, dedicated to developing a universally compatible and open architecture for the process industry, has chosen ISASecure® to oversee compliance with cybersecurity criteria specified in the O-PAS™ Standard.
The O-PAS Standard, endorsed by The Open Group, outlines a framework for industrial process automation that prioritizes openness, interoperability, and security by integrating existing and future standards, thereby setting a comprehensive benchmark.
ISASecure® will oversee certification aligned with the ISA/IEC 62443 series, a globally acknowledged framework for cybersecurity in automation and control systems. Compliance with the ISA/IEC 62443 standard is mandatory under the O-PAS Standard, specifically detailed in its Part 2.
