On August 19, 2024, Beaullar Chirume, the permanent secretary of Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Postal, and Courier Services, addressed attendees at a training event hosted by Huawei in Harare. The Chinese technology company initiated its inaugural cybersecurity training program on Monday, aimed at equipping Zimbabwean government officials in the capital with the skills needed to defend against cyber threats.
